Thesis: On June 6th, 1944, the Allies launched a risky assault in World War II. The Atlantic Wall was a barrier that resided on the beaches of Normandy, and blocked the Western Democracies from defeating the Nazis in Europe.  The Allies landed in Normandy, France, and eventually broke the Atlantic Wall. The Allies winning the battle and establishing a beachhead led them to winning the war in Europe. D-Day was the most important turning point in the Western Front of World War II.
